To,

The President / Secretary,

All Affiliated State Judo Associations/Units, JFI

Sub.: Important Rules for the Selection Trials of JFI to select the Indian Judo Teams for 12th Asian Cadets  & 19th Asian Juniors Judo Championship- 2018, Lebanon.

  Sir/Madam,

In continuation to my letter regarding the selection trails to select the Indian Cadet and Junior Judo Teams for the of the 12th Asian Cadets  & 19th Asian Juniors Judo Championship- 2018, Lebanon; the following clarifications about the eligibility to participate in the trails may be noted:

ELIGIBILITY :

CADETS : Above 15 years & Below 18 years.  Born in the year 2001, 2002 & 2003.

JUNIORS : Above 15 years & Below 21 years. Born in the year 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 & 2003.

Top 8 placed players from the current National Cadets & Juniors Judo Championships, from each weight group will be eligible to participate in the Trials.

i.e. Top 8 placed players : 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, 3rd place, 5thplace, 5th place, 7th place, 7th place.

As the current National Cadets & Juniors Judo Championships is conducted as per calendar year 2017, players born in 1997 cannot participate in the Trials.

Players who are not in the State team and born in  the year 2003 can participate in the Trials.

Pre conditions of the Trials :

a)       In case, a player has turned from Cadet to Junior, and is in the top 8 placed player , then the player will be placed in the Junior group in the same weight group,   which the player played in the Cadets.

e.g. If a player played in the  Cadets Boys: -60 kgs weight category  in the current Nationals Cadets & Juniors Judo Championships and is in the top 8 placed player, and  has become a Junior , the player will play in the Juniors Boys: -60 kgs only.

Thus , the said player will be the 9th player in the top 8 placed player in the -60 kgs of the Juniors Boys.

b)       A  Cadet player can participate in one group only i.e. either in Cadet or Junior as per age criteria.

 c)       Changing of weight group will not be permitted.

You are requested to convey the above rules and regulations to all the Coaches/Players.

Yours faithfully,

( Man Mohan Jaiswal )

General Secretary,

Judo Federation of India.
