4th Rajiv Gandhi International Judo Championships JUDO FOR PEACE 2010 organised successfully with Championships, Judo For Peace Programmes, Refereeing Seminar and International Training Camp.
The Championships was inagurated by the President of International Judo Federation Mr. Marius L. Vizer in the presence of Mr. Obaid Al-Anzi, President, Judo Union of Asia, Mr. Juan Carlos, IJF Refereeing Director, Mr. Armen Bagdasarov, IJF Sports Director, Mr. Jan Eirik, Director, Judo For Peace Commission, IJF, Mr. Deepak Bajracharya, President, South zone, JUA.
Mr. Jagdish TYTLER, president, JFI welcomed all the International dignitaries and other participants. Teams from Afghanistan, Nepal, Norway, Sri Lanka, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Indian A and B teams participated in the Championships as well as JUDO FOR PEACE activities.
The Hon’ble Governor of Rajasthan give a reception of all the International dignitaries and Hon’ble Chief Justice, Rajasthan was the Chief Gust during the Closing Ceremony on 23rd Feb. 2010. The closing was with colourful dances by the DAV School students.
Judo For Peace activities headed by Mr. Jan Eirik started on 21st Feb. 2010 in which 45 senior Judo officials from all the seven countries participated. The main topic was on Human rights, Non violence Philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi and Judo Philosophy and Values. Mr. Jan Eirik, Mr. Lars Petter Soltvedt, Ms. Lillian Hjorth from Norway and Mahant Kailashanand Bhramachari, Mr. K.L. Gupta IAS ( Retd. ) from India, given excellent lectures on the above subjects. The JFP Commission also organized excellent workshops for the Judo Officials on how to spread Peace through Judo. The Judo For Peace Programme concluded with marvelous session in the DAV Public School, Jaipur.
