Indian Youth bags 1 Gold and 3 Bronze from the Bahamas Commonwealth Youth Games 2017


Judo Federation of India is glad to inform that the Indian Judo players are continuously showing excellent performance. After winning Medals in the Asian Cadets and Asian Junior Judo Championships-2017, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, the Junior Judo Players have won 1 Gold and 3 Bronze Medals in the `Bahamas Commonwealth Youth Games-2017'. The Bahamas Commonwealth Youth Games are being held in Nassau, Bahamas, from 18th to 24th July 2017, for the athletes of 14-18 years Age Groups. The details of medal winners of the Commonwealth Youth Games are as under :

1.  Mr. Soni of Haryana has Won Gold medal in the below 73Kg Weight Category, after beating Mr. Nikolic Uros of Australia in the Final bout.

2.  Mr. Ashish of Haryana has won Bronze medal in the below 60Kg Weight Category, after beating Mr. Zain Prosser Harry of England in Bronze Medal bout.

3.  Ms. Antim Yadav of Madhya Pradesh has won Bronze medal in the below 48Kg Weight Category, by defeating Ms. Russelll  Jasmine of  Bahamas in Rep chage bout.

4.  Ms. Rebina Devi Chanam of Manipur has also won Bronze medal in the below 57Kg Weight category. Ms. Chanam defeated Ms. Saskia of Australia.

The Organising Committee of the Games allowed participation of only  4 Weight categories Judo players (2 Boys & 2 Girls) from each participating country, and all the Indian Judo players have won medals. Medal winning photo of Mr. Soni is attached.
