Shushila Devi and Jasleen Singh Saini in contention for Tokyo Olympic Games

A 3 member Indian National Judo Team consisting of Ms. Shushila Devi Likmabam (-48Kg), Mr. Jasleen Singh Saini (-66Kg) who are accompanied by Mr. Jiwan Kumar Sharma, Dronacharya Awardee will be participating at the World Judo Championships 2021, being held in Budapest, Hungary from June 2, 2021 till June 8, 2021.

This tournament is the last qualification event for the 2020 Olympic Games to be held at Tokyo. The final list of qualified judokas will be published by the International Judo Federation on June 28, 2021.

As on date, Ms. Shushila Devi Likmabam has qualified for the games under the continental quota with 989 points. Mr. Saini has 920 points. The highest in terms of points will receive the berth for the Olympic Games.

712 Judokas (420 Men + 292 women) from 133 countries will be participating in the World Judo Championships. There are 67 contestants in the -66Kg category for Mr. Saini and 46 competitors for Ms. Likmabam.
