Indian Judokas retained the South Asia Championships


11 Member Indian Judo Team  ( 6 Men and 5 Women players )   participated in the in the SOUTH ASIA JUDO CHAMPIONSHIPS - 2011, held on 11th and 12th May 2011 at Islamabad, Pakistan.

Out of 11 Judo Players participated in this Championships won 10 Gold Medal and 1 Silver medal. Once again Indian Judokas achieved the South Asia Championship. The other countries participated in this Championships are Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

Indian Judo Players started their preparation for the  2012 Olympics, and JFI planning to send the Indian Judo Team in most of the International Judo Federation’s Ranking events to be held in this year. Presently the National Coaching Camp is going on at SAI Bhopal.  Government of India also approved Two Foreign Coaches for their training in India.

Mr. Virender Singh ( -81 Kg) Silver Medal

Ms. Shanitimala Dev (- 48 Kg) Gold Medal

Ms. N. Gomti Chanu (- 52 Kg) Gold Medal

Ms. A. Anita Chanu (- 57 Kg) Gold Medal

Ms. Garima Chaudhary (- 63 Kg) Gold Medal

Ms. Ch. Jina Devi (- 70 Kg ) Gold Medal
