Anita CHANU won Bronze in Asian Judo Championships 2013

Anita CHANU won Bronze Medal in the Asian Senior Judo Championships 2013, Bangkok.

Anita Chanu won bronze medal after beating stron Korean judoka with Ippon in very tough first round. She threw her with her Yuko and then held with Sangakagatame hold. In her second round Anita defeated Uzbekistan with Ippon after scoring first Waza-ari. In the Semi final she lost to Mongolisn girl. She has very stiff back but fought well. In the Repechearge bout she won Bronze medal by defeating very stron opponent of Kazakhstan with two Yuko and Waza-ari.

Anita won her last Asian Bronze medal in 2003 at Jeju, Korea. India won a medal in Senior Asian Judo Championships in women section in 2007, when Ms. Tombi Devi won in 48 Kg. a Bronze medalat Kuwait.

It is in coinsidence that Mr. Jiwan Sharma was the Coach of Ms. Anita in 2003 and at present in bangkok. Considering the standard of Judo in Asia it is a remarkable standard of India judoka who after getting Arjuna Award is still going strong.

Ms. Nirupama missing Bronze medal final against Kazakhstan and Mr. Novjot Chana also same and place 7th place. Ms. Garima and Ms. Rajni Bala also won won thier first bouts and lost to Mongolia and Kazakhstan.
