India achieved Overall Championships in 7th South Asia Championships, NEPAL


Indian Judoka Bags 10 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze medals in the 7th South Asia Judo Championships 2014, Nepal

12 member Indian Judo Team participated in the 7th South Asia Judo Championships held from 10th to 13th April 2014 Kathmandu, Nepal. All South Asian Countries in Judo Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakisthan and Sril Lanka participated in the official Championship of South Asia Judo Federation. 

Indian Judokas  again proved thier supremancy in the South Asia by winning 10 Gold Medals, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze medals in the 7th South Asia Championships. This will be a great boost for the Indian Judokas for the forthcoming Commonwealth and Asian Games 2014. The winners are as under:

1. Navjot Chana - 60Kg - Gold
2. Irom Sanju Singh -66Kg - Gold
3.Navdeep Chana -73Kg - Gold
4. Vikender Singh -81Kg - Gold
5. Avtar Singh - 90Kg - Gold
6. Khaidem Yaima Singh-100Kg - Silver


WOMEN
 
1. Angom Anita Chanu - 52Kg - Gold
2. Suchika Tariyal - 57Kg - Gold
3. Garima Chaudhary - 63Kg - Gold
4. Huidrom Sunibala Devi -70Kg - Gold
5.Ch.Jina Devi-78Kg - Gold
6. Rajni Bala - 48Kg - Bronze

Mr. Jai Gopal Sharma and Mr. Surinder Singh accompanied as Coaches and Mr. J.R. Rajesh as Referee. In the last South Asia Judo Championships held in May 2011 at Pakistan ; India won 10 Gold and 1 Silver medals. The presence of Mr. Mukesh Kumar, President, Judo Federation of India and General Secretary, Judo Union of Asia, crowned the event.
