To,
The President/Hony. Secretary,
JFI affiliated State Judo Associations & Units,
Arjuna Awardees, Olympians,
Judo Coaches, Technical Officials, International Judo Players and
All Judo Fraternity of India.
Dear Friends,
I would like to draw your kind attention and seeking your valued suggestions / opinion for the development of Judo Sport in India, on the following points:
1] How we can win more medals in the International Events
2] How we can reach Judo playing population minimum of One Lac
3] How we can fight against Age Fraud, Doping etc.
4] Recently JFI got a proposal from M/s Opulence Sports Solutions Pvt Ltd. Noida, Uttar Pradesh; and they have desired to conduct the Professional League (e.g. prokabadi/Badminton, Hockey ) of Judo. As per the proposal, they are offering an annual contribution of Rs. 50 Lacs to the JFI and Rs. 10 Lac each to the participating state units, This would help us coming out of the dependency on SAI and the JFI and State Units would be able to do much better for the betterment of the sport independently.
The brief benefits offered by them are as follows:
1. They will have 10 state teams in the first year and would add another 5 state teams next year. The states would be decided by JFI.
Result: This will help JFI promoting Judo in these 10 states in first year and then in 15 states from second year onward.
2. They will use 6 Indian Players in every team. They are offering around 3- 5 Lacs for every player and during the auction, players can get more apart from the endorsement benefits and jobs in the corporates.
Result : our 100 to 150 Players would be involved in the league.
3. They will use all coaches and referees as per JFI approved panel
Result: all JFI member officials will get financial benefit of around 2-3 Lacs per league and would be attached to all teams
4. They are proposing to open Academies on all 10 to 15 participating States.
Result: this will help JFI developing the facilities in these states and use these facilities for training, generating more players and that too without any help from SAI
5. They are offering to conduct the League in the top tourist destinations of India, including Forts, Beaches, national parks, hill stations of India instead of the stadiums.
Result: This would help the sport hugely as the popularity and attraction of the tourist destinations would add value, attraction and popularity to Judo also and the visibility of the sport would reach worldwide.
6. They propose that League would be aired live on the TV (e.g. star sports etc.) and they will involve many sponsors.
Result: This will help JFI to increase the popularity of Judo all over the Country, our players would get endorsements and training support.
7. They are proposing inter school and college tournament and also inter corporate tournament.
Result: This would be a big boost for the sport in the entire country from grass root level to the corporate level and our players may get the jobs in the corporates.
Above are some of the points/benefits offered in their presentation they have made to JFI.
We understand that by organising the league, JFI and the state units will have good developments of the sport, players, officials, State associations and the Federation apart from the huge money which would be infused for the beneficiaries as mentioned above.
This would also help JFI to increase the popularity of the game of Judo in the country and abroad and we would be able to generate more players, and more medal winners for the country.
You are kindly requested to send your suggestions and view on the above to JFI; before 31st August 2015, so that the same can be discussed in the Technical Committee Meeting, Executive Committee and General Body Meeting to be held on 5th and 6th September 2015. Your immediate response to this mail is urgently solicited.
With best regards,
( Man Mohan Jaiswal )
General Secretary
